The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. About the role: The Policy Advisor will work as part of a small team to support the development and implementation of a range of workforce development programs/initiatives to strengthen the Victorian public health workforce.
This role will require strong project management, business process, budget management, problem solving and communication skills to work effectively across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrating relevant experience and expertise in health systems, government processes, stakeholder consultation, policy design, and program implementation, this role will provide the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and impart enduring reform in the healthcare sector.

How you'll make a difference: Communicate with sector agencies on funded activity data collections, collate and validate responses to input into modelling of activity-based funded programs.Process funding allocations, adjustments and payments relating to training and development streams of funding.Oversight of service agreements and contracts to ensure timelines, deliverables and funding requirements are met.Develop, implement and maintain effective processes to ensure efficient management and oversight of training and development funding that meet departmental probity, accountability and other procedural and operational requirements.Contribute to the effective development, delivery and monitoring of training and development funding models to ensure they deliver value for money and the desired outcomes.Identify high priority issues and risks impacting on project schedules and quality and pro-actively escalate/manage problems as they arise.Prepare and present quality submissions, briefings, reports and correspondence, and maintain proper documentation recording and tracking systems in accordance with established performance standards.Work across multiple projects, including engaging with stakeholders, and working in multidisciplinary teams to meet emerging pressures and demands, as required.To learn more please click 'Apply' to view the Position Description on the Careers.vic website.
