The Opportunity - In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
BDA are looking for a Project Technical Lead. In this role you will be leading a technical team as part of BDA's eMatrix to 3DX PLM Migration. The role will have you working closely with the PLM Technical Team, 3DX Solutions Architects and Defence Program Teams to define 3DX configuration changes, determine program to program specific requirements and validate data scripts in support of data migration.
This is a hands-on role, with the candidate expected to balance their time performing technical leadership activities with a range of technical tasks such as data analysis, mapping and validation activities. In addition to technical capabilities, effective communication, both written and verbal is a must.
This role can be based in either Brisbane or Melbourne.
As a Project Technical Lead within BDA, you will: Be responsible for the technical quality of the project, reviewing key decisions and managing technical debt.Manage the capability scope within project schedule working with the project manager.Assess technical risks and propose mitigations.Provide technical coaching of team members.Act as the technical interface between project team and key stakeholders.Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance the project's efficiency and drive a leaner more agile approach.About you: To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field.Experience in the use of PLM Tools ideally eMatrix or 3DX, ideally with understanding of how the backend works.Experience within Defence aviation or similar environments.Experience working within an Engineering Management System with a good understanding of configuration management principles.High level of understanding in Excel with the ability to interpret data models and large volumes of technical data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions in layman's terms.Familiarity with project lifecycles, databases (e.g., SQL Server), or the ability to use and understand programming languages.Agile Project Management philosophy.Familiarity with Atlassian tools preferable.An excellent communicator who can engage with diverse and geographically dispersed teams from various engineering disciplines.Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
