Increasing housing choice in places that are well-located and maximise use of existing infrastructure and transport is a key priority to support the liveability and sustainability of our neighbourhoods and communities.
We are introducing new planning controls in 10 pilot activity centres, allowing an additional 60,000 homes to be built.
25 new activity centres near train stations or trams have been added to the pilot program currently underway.
From 1st February 2025, the VPA will become its own group within the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).
The VPA is working with DTP to deliver a new model of activity centre planning near train stations and trams across metropolitan Melbourne.About The RolesThe Department of Transport and Planning and the Victoria Planning Authority are collaborating and seeking applications from talented and driven Planners who want to contribute to shaping the future of Victoria.
