Now, we're looking for an inspiring Executive Officer to lead us into our next exciting chapter.
The Opportunity As Executive Officer (EO) , you will be at the helm of ArtEdVic, driving creativity, connection, and change in arts education across Victoria.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected organisation with a rich history and a bold vision for the future.
You'll work with a committed Board, a small but passionate team, and a diverse community of educators, artists, and advocates to strengthen our impact, grow our reach, and champion the role of visual arts education in creating vibrant, creative futures.
This role calls for a visionary leader —someone who can inspire, innovate, and implement strategies that bring our mission to life.
What You'll Do Lead with Purpose: Drive the delivery of ArtEdVic's strategic plan and inspire a culture of creativity, inclusion, and excellence.
Grow our Impact: Develop innovative programs, build partnerships, and expand revenue streams that secure a sustainable future for ArtEdVic.
Champion the Cause: Be the voice of visual arts education—advocate, engage, and promote ArtEdVic's work to stakeholders, partners, and the broader community.
Empower Educators: Deliver high-quality professional learning programs, resources, and events that enrich teaching and learning experiences.
Inspire Teams: Lead a collaborative small team of staff, contractors, and volunteers to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Drive Innovation: Oversee our digital presence, marketing, and communications to ensure ArtEdVic's message resonates far and wide.
Ensure Sustainability: Manage budgets, secure funding, and deliver on financial and strategic goals.

You're strategic, driven, and hands-on, with a proven ability to lead teams, deliver programs, and foster impactful partnerships.
You have: Vision & Leadership: Experience leading small teams and driving strategic growth in not-for-profit, education, or arts sector.
Financial Acumen: The ability to manage budgets, secure funding including grants, and grow resources.
Advocacy Skills: A passion for championing arts education and the ability to build strong relationships with educators, artists, government, and partners.
Creativity & Innovation: Strong digital literacy and experience in marketing, communications, and program delivery.
Heart & Drive: A genuine passion for visual arts, community impact, and making a difference.
Key Selection Criteria Leadership and Management Experience Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within the not-for-profit, education, or arts sector, including team management, operational oversight, and project delivery.
Proven ability to motivate and manage staff, contractors, and volunteers to achieve strategic outcomes.
Financial Management and Revenue Generation Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
Proven ability to secure funding through grants, sponsorships, partnerships, and revenue-generating initiatives including earned income.
Strategic Planning and Organisational Development Demonstrated ability to implement strategic plans, drive change, and enhance organisational sustainability.
Proven capacity to balance strategic vision with day-to-day operational demands.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy Experience building and maintaining strong partnerships with government, philanthropic bodies, educators, artists and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated advocacy experience, particularly in education or the visual arts sector, with a commitment to community engagement.
Technological Competence and Marketing Expertise Strong digital literacy with experience managing platforms such as WordPress, Xero, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and social media tools (or willing to get up to speed quickly) Demonstrated ability to implement marketing campaigns to promote programs, events, and the organisation's mission.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes Tertiary qualifications in arts management, education, business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strategic mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
Expertise in the Visual Arts Strong knowledge of Victorian and Australian Curriculum landscapes, particularly in Visual Art (or Media/Visual Communication/Design & Technology) education.
Board Experience Experience working for a Board of a not-for-profit organisation, and/or with a solid understanding of non-profit governance frameworks.
