Purpose of the role: We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Planning and Development Officer to be located at our head office in Truganina.
As the Planning and Development Officer reporting to the Service Development Manager, you will play a vital role in analyzing data to enhance the services of CDC Victoria.
Your responsibilities will encompass planning, scheduling, and ensuring our operations run smoothly, along with managing the myki reconciliation process.
Moreover, you will collaborate with the Service Development Manager to shape the future of CDC Victoria's bus network and services, making a meaningful impact on our community.
Major Responsibilities Optimise timetables, schedules and rosters to ensure safety goals and the cost-of-service delivery are met.Assist with the design of new networks using land use and behaviour data such as activity centers, travel time, population density, and minimal service levels, based on relevant service planning guidelines.Revise rosters and schedules, considering any changes in services to eliminate poor resource allocation and late running services.Prepare daily schedules using relevant programs.Prepare timetables as required which comply with Department of Transport (DoT) specifications.Prepare costs for new/amended schedules in the form of Operating Service Provisions in line with requirements.Generate required operating documents such as journals, rosters, bus blocks, shift blocks and any other operational reports as required and provide to Depot management teams to meet operational requirements.Prepare rosters, utilizing the daily schedules which comply with relevant Enterprise Agreements and Fatigue Management Rules.Assist in network implementations.Be responsible for the management of the MYKI reconciliation process.Access the MYKI Data base and prepare reports as required.Represent CDC Victoria at traffic committees, council planning meetings, community meetings, industry briefings, schools and other committees as appropriate.Act as an advocate for public transport in general, even when CDC is not directly involved.Provide timely, accurate and concise information as required by internal and third parties.To be appointed to the role you must have: Tertiary qualification in network planning and development or similar.A strong customer focus, with the ability to understand and balance internal and external stakeholders' requirements.An in-depth working knowledge of the Fatigue Management requirements.Ability to manage conflicting priorities.Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet strict timelines.Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional PC proficiency, particularly MS Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word.Able to make prompt and timely recommendations.Demonstrated ability to influence others.CDC is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to attracting and developing a diverse workforce which reflects the community we serve.
