As the Planning and Referrals Lead, you will manage SRW's obligations as a statutory planning referral authority, streamlining systems and processes for planning referrals.
Your expertise will guide land management decisions across SRW's regulated supply systems and drinking water catchments, ensuring effective responses to referrals impacting our Groundwater & Rivers operations.
As SRW's representative in planning matters, you will promote best-practice engagement with stakeholders, authorities, and the community.
Your strong communication skills will be essential in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
To thrive in this role, you will be a proactive team player skilled in handling planning referrals and establishing business processes.
Your enthusiasm, innovation, and self-motivation will be crucial in creating process improvements to support assessment of planning permit referrals.
Responsibilities: Coordinate and lead the organisation's assessment of statutory planning referrals to ensure that SRW meets its obligations under the Planning and Environment Act 1987.Represent SRW's interests in discussions with internal and external stakeholders in planning matters.Provide advice to responsible authorities on planning scheme amendments that affect SRW's interests and operations.Develop and implement process improvements and templates to support a more streamlined, coordinated and timely assessment of planning permit referrals.About You The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
