THE ROLE: The Physiotherapist in Charge is responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, and operations for the Physiotherapy Department at Calvary Mater Newcastle. The position works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary leaders and teams across the hospital to plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality equitable inpatient care with an emphasis on general medicine and cancer care.
DUTIES: Excellent clinical judgment in using assessment findings and background knowledge to formulate an individualized treatment plan in consultation with the client.Manage the provision of physiotherapy services within CMN, including planning and coordination of services, the provision of expert advice to achieve both budget and service delivery targets.Lead and direct the workflow and duties of the physiotherapy staff to ensure physiotherapy services are performed in accordance with legislation and approved policy and procedures.ABOUT YOU: Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy and authorized to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Demonstrated high-level knowledge and understanding of person-centered care, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.Demonstrated leadership skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery, and coordination of patient care and team workload.Demonstrated management experience in Human Resource Management, Finance, Workplace Health and Safety, Clinical Governance, and Quality Improvement with proven communication skills to implement change and achieve excellent outcomes for the department.Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Physiotherapy and previous involvement in undergraduate and/or postgraduate educational programs.Demonstrated commitment to own personal responsibilities, professional development, and evidence-based practice and Quality Improvement.Commitment to the Philosophy of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary as it applies to the Hospital and the ability and a desire to uphold these values.WHY JOIN US?
