Could your physiotherapy skills support children with disability to achieve their full potential at school? Our Darling Downs South West team is seeking a solution-focused, skilled communicator to collaborate with students, families, and schools. As a school-based physiotherapist, you can influence a child's achievement, develop your paediatric skills while being supported by local and statewide physiotherapists.

A permanent vacancy exists for a part-time (FTE 0.6) physiotherapist in Darling Downs South West Region.
About the Department of Education:
The Department of Education employs over 120 physiotherapists to support students to be successful in all aspects of their learning. We use our knowledge and skills to enable students to be healthy and successful throughout their school experience. From positioning in the classroom to school swimming or planning for school camp, our physiotherapists are a key member of a student's educational team.
As part of the Darling Downs South West team, the physiotherapists provide day visits to schools as well as some overnight travel to locations including but not limited to Goondiwindi, Stanthorpe, Chinchilla, and Kingaroy. Telepractice is frequently used to deliver equity and excellence to students. Base location may be negotiable within the region.
Build your knowledge of the physiotherapist role in supporting paediatric disability.Establish educational relevant goals with the student and their team.Develop and deliver innovative evidence-based models of service delivery.Provide professional development to teachers and teacher aides.Contribute to regional and statewide physiotherapy teams.Form strategic partnerships with schools, allied health professionals, and families.Identify, assess, and implement physiotherapy services relevant to the education setting.Provide a consultative service to students' teachers, parents, and wider team members.Participate in specialised projects and share practices and resources with other physiotherapists within the department.Travel is a requirement of the role.
