About the role We currently have positions available for qualified, reliable, and passionate Personal Care Workers to join our team in Charters Towers and surrounding areas. It is preferred that you are an experienced Aged Care Worker.

Key Responsibilities: GeneralSupport elderly individuals in maintaining their independence and well-being.Help with personal care tasks, such as bathing and grooming.Provide companionship and engage in conversation.Assist with household chores and organizing activities.Monitor health, administer medications, and document care.Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members.Personal Care AssistanceHelp clients with tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.Assist with moving and positioning to keep clients comfortable and safe.Administer medications as instructed.Domestic SupportAssist with housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.Accompany clients for grocery shopping and errands.Keep the living environment clean and organized.Emotional and Social SupportEngage in conversations and activities to provide companionship and social interaction.Offer emotional support and encouragement to improve clients' mental well-being.Organize recreational activities based on clients' interests.Transport ServicesProvide transportation for clients to appointments, errands, and other destinations as required.Ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience for all passengers.Adhere to traffic regulations and maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle.Shopping Services / Shop-by-listReceive shopping lists from clients and ensure accurate and timely completion of shopping tasks.Purchase items from designated stores or online platforms, following clients' preferences and budget considerations.Handle cash transactions and maintain receipts.QualificationsExperience in providing care for aged care or disability clients.Knowledge of person-centred care principles and safety regulations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical stamina for lifting, bending, and manual tasks.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if needed).Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.Preferably with hoist experience.Preferred SkillsMinimum Certificate III in Individual Care.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges.Valid National Police Check.Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.Driver's license with own vehicle.Endorsed to administer medication (desirable), otherwise training provided.
