Our recently merged Downer Energy & Utilities team are excited to introduce a People & Culture Business Partner opportunity, predominantly supporting the Metering Services arm of our Telco & Metering Services line of business.
This is a unique opportunity suited to a committed, resilient and robust individual with experience working within a diverse operational environment, supporting field-based leaders and a self-performing workforce of approximately 1300 individuals.

As a trusted Business Partner, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the People & Culture Manager, enabling continuous development relating to the provision of strategic advice and guidance throughout BAU activities and the delivery, execution and implementation of P&C related initiatives.
Adept at building strong relationships with operational leaders, you will deliver people, culture and change initiatives within Metering Services.

This position can be Brisbane or Sydney based enabling the successful appointment face-to-face collaboration & relationship building opportunities with their key stakeholders.

You enjoy engaging with a variety of teams and individuals, leveraging exceptional collaboration skills and allowing for the transfer of information and expertise, enabling strong relationships with your client group and the wider Downer business.
Your proactive nature ensures you can seek out information where required and can administer approved policies and programs, resulting in business compliance to relevant standards and legislation.

Some other key skills we are seeking are: Bachelor of Human Resources, or Industrial Relations would be ideal.Demonstrated and successful 'hands on' experience in a senior P&C role, ideally gained in Utilities, Construction/Maintenance with exposure to a blue collar self-performing workforce.Experience in supporting an award covered workforce and an ability to interpret various awards.Sound knowledge and understanding of current ER and IR legislation best-practice.Broad HR generalist experience including change and communications management, labour strategy and the execution of the people strategy.Passionate about people coupled with a risk mitigation mindset.Downer Group is an employer that acknowledges and embraces the importance of our people's diverse experiences, talents, and cultures.
