Royal Flying Doctor Service Of Australia

Details of the offer

About Us
When people talk about the Flying Doctor, thoughts generally turn to red-bellied planes undertaking rescue missions in the Outback. However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today's challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.
About the People and Culture Team
We're a dynamic team spearheading strategic initiatives and everyday operations across the employee journey. From talent attraction and onboarding to development and performance management, we're the custodians of our workplace culture. We put people first and support the organisation and our team to grow, succeed and contribute positively to better health and wellbeing outcomes in the community.
Your Role
Reporting to the Senior P&C Business Partner, the P&C Advisor plays a pivotal role in managing end-to-end recruitment, providing generalist HR advice to people leaders, and supporting the Senior P&C Business Partner to implement HR processes and initiatives that drive business performance. Your portfolio includes Primary Health, Marketing & Fundraising, and Corporate Services, but you will also work closely with the P&C Advisor for Mobile Patient Care (MPC) during peak busy periods.
What You'll Do:
Recruitment & onboarding: manage end-to-end recruitment process, guide hiring managers in recruitment and interviewing, coordinate compliance and onboarding paperwork.
Advisory: act as the contact point for P&C enquiries for the portfolio, provide advice and guidance to managers on people matters, policies and EA interpretation, and escalating accordingly to Senior P&C Business Partner.
Projects: Lead and contribute to a variety of exciting new P&C initiatives and process improvements, aimed at embedding best-practice HR procedures and strategies across the business.
MPC Support: work closely with P&C Advisor of MPC at peaks times for recruitment drives and onboarding.
Administration: collaborate with the P&C Coordinator to provide administrative support across all stages of the employee life cycle.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in generalist HR coordinator/advisor role
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or similar
- Working knowledge of core HR principles and Australian employment law
- Solid communication skills, confident to talk to all levels of the organisation, and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Excellent organisation skills, able to prioritise tasks in a busy, changing environment.
- Capable of working independently, proactively seeking solutions and taking initiative, while also being able to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Tech savvy: able to build confidence quickly with new systems and able to spot opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Ability to work in an ever-changing environment, turn challenges into opportunities and deliver exceptional results even when the heat is on.
Why join us?
- Work for Australia's most reputable charity (11 out of 12 years) and most trusted charity (last 3 years).
- Work for your community helping overcome the burden of distance, enabling care in the community, helping people take control of their own health and overcoming isolation.
- Access to the highest level of salary packaging benefits via our Not for Profit status (up to $15,900 p.a. pre-tax plus an additional $2,650 for food beverage & holiday accommodation expenses annually)
- Enjoy a full-time role with flexible work arrangements to work from home and at our Richmond office, as well as options for purchased leave.
- Great parental leave benefits in addition to government parental leave.
