As the People & Culture Officer, you will oversee recruitment, employee relations, policies and compliance, training and development, and HR and Safety data management. You will play a vital role in enabling the organisation to build a diverse and skilled workforce, promote employee engagement, and drive performance while ensuring ethical practices, compliance, and professional growth opportunities for employees.Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and select qualified candidates;Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, pre-employment checks and onboarding;Design and deliver orientation programs to familiarise new employees with the organisation's culture, policies, and procedures;Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of risk and WHS frameworks and databases;Coordinate WH&S meetings, support the organisation and provide advice to leadership team and Board to ensure WH&S compliance;Serve as a point of contact and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, employee relations, and performance management;Support managers and employees in conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and promoting a positive work environment;Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations, including employment contracts, working hours, leave entitlements, and occupational health and safety;Identify training and development needs within the organisation and develop relevant programs to address those needs;Assist in the development and implementation of competitive and fair compensation and benefits programs.Your Skills & ExperienceProven success in an equivalent role, delivering the key accountabilities outlined above;Demonstrated experience coordinating business support including the development and ongoing maintenance of risk and WHS frameworks;Experience developing and improving organisational systems and services including updating of relevant policies and procedures;Advanced Computer Literacy (Microsoft Suite products, Open Project and Google Docs);Strong communications skills, in particular, significant experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Indigenous groups and Indigenous organisations.The OfferThis is an exceptional permanent opportunity within a highly regarded organisation.
