Payroll Officer

Location: Sydney, Australia

Reports to: (Direct) Payroll Manager Schedule: Part-time (3 days) 9 Months
Note: Hybrid Set Up 1 or 2 days in the office (Sydney CBD)
Please note: This position is open only to applicants currently residing in Australia. Job Description: A leading global bank with a long history in the Asia-Pacific region is seeking a talented Payroll Officer to join their team in Australia.
This role is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for employees in Australia and New Zealand. You will ensure accurate and timely payments while maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Process payroll data for new hires, terminations, and ongoing staff Run bi-weekly payroll for Australia and New Zealand Handle terminations and manual payments Reconcile payroll deductions and ensure accurate tax and superannuation contributions Answer employee payroll inquiries Generate reports and maintain payroll records Assist HR and Payroll teams with projects Participate in annual system upgrades Qualifications: Strong numerical skills and understanding of Australian and New Zealand employment laws Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Relevant degree in HR, Business, Finance, or similar field (preferred)Experience in CHRIS21/iChris or similar payroll system is a plus Minimum 1 year of payroll/accounting experience To apply for this position, please click the button below.
