Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll in accordance with policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation, as well as significant payroll experience in a medium to large complex organisation.What you'll do:As a Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's payroll processes. You will be responsible for interpreting and applying relevant legislation, maintaining up-to-date employee records, liaising with various departments to ensure accurate costing of salaries, administering month-end reporting requirements, facilitating compensation claims, meeting statutory reporting requirements, contributing to policy development and undertaking necessary testing or projects. Your ability to manage workload effectively while maintaining confidentiality will be key to your success in this role.Process end-to-end fortnight payroll in a timely and accurate mannerInterpret and apply relevant Acts, legislation, organisational policies/procedures, Awards and Enterprise AgreementsAdminister payments and deductions in accordance with relevant policy/procedure and legislationMaintain up-to-date records for each employee reflecting their conditions of employment and entitlementsLiaise with the Financial Services team to accurately cost employees' salaries and wages against activities and jobsAdminister month-end payroll reporting requirementsFacilitate and administer Worker's Compensation, Income Protection and Journey Accident claimsEnsure all relevant statutory reporting requirements are met within required timeframesContribute to the development and regular review of relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and operational manualsWhat you bring:The ideal Payroll Officer will bring a wealth of payroll experience from a medium to large complex organisation. You will have technical proficiency in using payroll systems. Your understanding of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, relevant legislation, and statutory requirements will be crucial in this role. You will possess accurate data entry skills coupled with excellent time management and organisational abilities. Your ability to maintain confidentiality while demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential. A problem-solver at heart, you thrive in a team environment and are committed to providing outstanding customer service.
