About the Role A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position is responsible for timely and accurate end to end payroll processing for 200 employees.
Acting as the first point of contact for all payroll related enquiries, this role ensures that payroll information is consistently maintained and processed in line with legislated requirements and reporting obligations.
Additionally, the payroll officer works closely with the senior management team to assist in identifying labour cost trends and recommending enhancements and continuous improvement to the payroll function.
Key Accountabilities include: Prepare, process and administer fortnightly payroll and associated payments and the preparation of payroll reports as required Ensure consistency between payroll and time and attendance systems, process any changes to pay rates, employee records and any additional payroll-related records.
Process all approved employee-related salary packaging changes to ensure that they are processed in in a timely and accurate manner.
Process fortnightly PAYGW payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Process monthly Superannuation Contributions for employees via clearing house.
Ensure any award changes are maintained and updated in the payroll system.
Undertake system maintenance duties for payroll and time & attendance systems.
Troubleshoot and provide solutions for payroll-related problems queries, as required.
Provide customer-focused service to all Focal Community Services' employees regarding payroll, leave and salary sacrifice queries.
Respond to enquiries within 2 days of inquiry.
Gather any information required for audit purposes or any other adhoc information as required.
Leave coverage of Corporate Services team members as required.
Assist with other core finance functions as required.
This position is aligned with a minimum level 3 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award however overall remuneration package is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Knowledge of payroll-related legislation and procedures including award interpretation Ability to solve problems in a technical environment.
Good time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly resourceful team-player who also possess a positive, can-do attitude.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, flexibly and jointly with staff as part of a customer focused team.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one Completion of NDIS Online Worker Training Module (prior to commencement) Experience with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award is desirable, but not essential Previous experience using Employment Hero HR and Payroll systems is desirable, but not essential.
