13th September, 2024We have partnered with Australia Zoo to find a dedicated and professional Payroll Officer to join its Accounts Team on a full-time basis. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing weekly wages for employees across multiple entities. The successful candidate will be a team player, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate sensitivity to team needs while being willing to assist other staff whenever possible.About our client:Australia Zoo's vision is to be the ultimate global zoological destination and, in doing so, act as a world leader in the conservation of wildlife and their habitats. Established in 1970, the 'Beerwah Reptile Park' started as a wildlife park that spanned two acres. Today, Australia Zoo now encompasses over 700 acres, with 110 acres on public display.About the role:Process weekly pay runs for up to 500 employees across multiple departments and entities.Manage employee profile changes, including remuneration adjustments, title changes, and departmental transfers.Process and finalize bonuses, salary sacrifice, WorkCover, and termination payments in accordance with legislation.Handle all types of leave payments as per legislative requirements.Process and finalize pre-pay/out-of-cycle payments as needed.Provide payroll advice to employees according to the relevant award and HR policies.Collaborate closely with the HR team on onboarding, contract changes, and terminations.Stay informed of changes in payroll legislation and best practices.Apply and interpret various awards to ensure accurate pay and entitlements.Assist the Financial Controller with data gathering for external surveys and reporting.Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to maintain accuracy and compliance.Generate detailed payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.Process monthly superannuation payments for all entities.Process monthly payroll tax and child support payments.Handle end-of-month and end-of-financial-year reporting.Prior knowledge of Deputy and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is highly desirable.The successful candidate:Full availability, including weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.Valid driver's license.Successful completion of an Australian Federal Police Criminal Record Check before employment.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role with exposure to payroll compliance.Ability to interpret fair work legislation and modern awards, ensuring compliance across the organisation.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Quick learner with the ability to adapt.Respect for confidentiality and privacy of information and files.Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.What's on offer:$80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation.Genuine career progression opportunities.An inclusive, diverse and enjoyable working environment.Be part of an Australian icon!Shortlisting will begin once applications are received.For a confidential discussion about this position, please call Shaun from Minchin Recruitment via ****** or (07) 3733 3544.Diversity and Inclusion:Minchin Recruitment and its partners are Equal Opportunity Employers who employ people with different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds and share a passion for improving people's lives and delivering exceptional service.
