About the role Are you detail-oriented and thrive in a dynamic work environment?
We're seeking a Payroll Officer who not only ensures everyone is paid accurately and on time but does so with a positive attitude.
Key responsibilities include - Process salary variations, new hires, manual payments (including terminations, leave adjustments, back pays, and redundancies).
Manage the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process for approximately 800 employees across Australia and New Zealand.
Handle monthly bonus and commission payments.
Process weekly termination payments and ad hoc runs as required.
Maintain and update employee records across all platforms.
Ensure compliance with statutory payments and submissions for superannuation, payroll tax, workers' compensation insurance, and PAYG.
Contribute to payroll process and system improvement initiatives.
Interpret awards and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
About You You'll be joining a fast-paced team, bringing a "can-do" attitude and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
You're a team player who can also work independently, with a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills.
Ideally, you'll have: 3-4 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced setting.
A solid understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and employment laws.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (highly beneficial).
Experience with Keypay or Employment Hero payroll systems (desirable).
Familiarity with New Zealand payroll processes (a plus, but not essential).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
