An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and meticulous Payroll Officer to join a dynamic team. This role offers the chance to showcase your skills in processing payroll, maintaining records, ensuring tax compliance, preparing reports, administering benefits, and performing reconciliations. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and inclusive environment that values teamwork and commitment. This opportunity is for a 3 month temporary period and is based just outside of Brisbane's CBD.
What you'll do: Accurately and timely calculating and processing employee salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductionsMaintaining accurate and up-to-date records of employee payroll information, including hours worked, leaves taken, benefits, and tax withholdingEnsuring that payroll taxes such as income tax, social security contributions, and other deductions are correctly calculated and withheldPreparing and submitting payroll reports to management, government authorities, and other relevant parties as requiredAdministering employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary deductionsPerforming regular reconciliations of payroll data including bank accounts, tax liabilities, and other related accountsWhat you bring: Proven experience in processing payroll accurately and efficientlyStrong knowledge of tax compliance regulations related to payrollDetailed experience using Tier One payroll systemsAbility to perform reconciliations of payroll data effectivelyExcellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with various stakeholdersAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
