About the role The Payroll Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring and auditing payroll processes to ensure compliance with relevant awards and policies.
You will collaborate with the Payroll Team Leaders and the Group Payroll Manager to implement best practices, manage compliance risks, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function.
Key Responsibilities Conduct audits, monitor payroll activities, and ensure compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, legislation and policies.
Lead risk management initiatives, identifying potential compliance risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with payroll teams to enhance processes and maintain accurate application of payroll practices.
Develop and update payroll policies to reflect legal changes and best practices.
Skills and Experience This role is ideal for someone with experience in large payroll systems, a solid understanding of awards, and expertise in the pay production cycle, including rostering and time and attendance systems.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or related field or demonstrated significant experience in payroll compliance.
Experience working within a large, complex Payroll or Shared Services environment, multi-state environment is preferred.
High attention to detail and ethical standards.
Proactive approach to compliance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
