Adapt and Learn is a privately owned and run Paediatric Therapies service with fun and connection at the forefront of every session. We incorporate Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology and Tutoring/Life Skills services within a family-based and collaborative environment. As parents of two neurodivergent children, we recognise that every child is different, with each day providing its own challenges. We are dedicated to helping our families through these difficult, yet rewarding, times and provide therapies to support each individual child on their own journey. We believe that parents are the experts in their own children, and we love working closely and collaboratively with families in a supportive and nurturing environment.We currently offer community-based therapies in and around Brisbane, Logan and the Scenic Rim, working with a diverse paediatric caseload with a strong focus on genuine capacity building and working towards meaningful functional goals with individuals. Our clinic in Ashmore, Gold Coast, is under construction, and opening in January to offer clinic-based therapies to our list!Adapt and Learn are seeking full-time, enthusiastic Paediatric Occupational Therapists, including a Senior to head and mentor our fun-loving crew. We require (a) community-based therapists and (b) clinic-based therapists to support our current and new clients and of course our increasing waitlists.Note: Community-based therapists service: Brisbane, Logan and the Scenic Rim / Clinic-based: Ashmore.Most of our children present with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Sensory Challenges, Social and Emotional Challenges, Developmental Delays, and Learning Difficulties.Why work with us?We offer:Senior Role: Reduced caseload allowing you to support team members and mentor juniors.Maximum face-to-face hours written into your contract offering you protection to reduce burn out.Community based: Car (inc. private use), laptop, phone and fuel card provided.Clinic based: Laptop provided.Working within a friendly and supportive family-like team.Strong career growth opportunities as we continue to expand.Generous above award salary plus superannuation.Private Health Insurance provided after probationary period.Exceptional Professional Development opportunities for those with a passion for lifelong learning.Full administration support provided for all scheduling, billing, admin and customer service.All resources and equipment provided.Paediatric focus with children aged up to 16 years.Relocation assistance, if required.Immediate start.Essential Requirements:Qualification in Occupational Therapy as recognised by AHPRA.Current membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Working with Children Check.First Aid and CPR training or willingness to obtain.Open driver's licence and access to a car.Experience in Paediatrics.Skills and Experience:A comprehensive understanding of the needs of children with a diverse range of disabilities.Demonstrated skills, with a sound understanding of your role as an Occupational Therapist.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a small team environment.Strong organisational, time management skills and flexibility.Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing professional development and quality improvement.Commitment to strength based, child centred practice.A demonstrated passion for working with children.Independent skills to manage and mentor a small team of Occupational Therapists (Senior).Duties:Provide individual therapy and support to children up to 16 years at home, school or childcare as needed.Conduct and implement informal and standardised assessments to effectively assess and establish therapy plans. Communicate these results with families or carers.Collaborate closely with participants, their families and carers to provide therapy support to identify the best course of action and increase the child's functioning and family well-being.Liaise with team, family, specialist services and other stakeholders as appropriately needed.Documenting tasks including keeping up to date client treatment notes and report writing.Share and create enthusiasm for family-centred practice.Collaborate with other Adapt and Learn therapists.Provide mentoring and clinical supervision as required to junior colleagues (Senior).So, do you love working with children and love being in a small, supportive team?
