About the Role Freo Group, a leader in crane hire and heavy lifting solutions, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Newman, WA. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with proven leadership skills in the crane services or equipment rental industry. As the Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations, optimising personnel and equipment utilisation, and driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise branch operations, ensuring efficient deployment of cranes, equipment, and personnel.Oversee multiple departments, driving operational excellence and meeting P&L and KPI targets.Develop work schedules, optimize resource allocation, and streamline workflows for maximum productivity.Foster a positive, collaborative team culture, motivating staff to exceed performance expectations.Establish and maintain strong client relationships, addressing any concerns promptly.Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and innovation.Ensure compliance with internal and external OHS, quality, and environmental policies.Manage branch administration with a strong focus on time management and problem-solving.About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory/management position.Proven track record in branch/department management within crane services, heavy vehicles, or equipment rental sectors.Strong experience in P&L and KPI management.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in high-pressure environments, meeting strict deadlines.Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, both written and verbal.High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.Professional and approachable demeanour with a client-focused attitude.Must be an Australian Citizen or have valid working rights in Australia.Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.Currently residing in Western Australia.Qualifications Formal education in Transport & Logistics, Business Management, or equivalent experience in a related discipline (minimum 5 years).Desirable: Schedule 26 or WHS SRMS qualification, High-Risk Work Licenses (CN, CO, LF, WP, RI), Working at Heights certification.Valid Australian Driver's Licence (HR, HC, or MC class desirable).Construction Induction (White) Card.National Police Clearance (NPC).What We Offer Competitive salary package with superannuation and additional allowances.FIFO (Ex Perth) or local roster options to suit your lifestyle.A supportive team environment with opportunities for career growth.Permanent full-time role with stability and a January 2025 start date.How to Apply If you are a results-driven leader with a background in crane services or heavy equipment management, we would love to hear from you!
