Position Summary:The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the daily operational functions across Melbourne and Perth branches while leading key strategic initiatives.
This role supports the General Manager in ensuring efficient processes across purchasing, warehousing, logistics, and administrative operations.
Strategic focus will be implementing the new software system and achieving Quality Management Certification.
The role requires close collaboration with department leaders to streamline workflows and maintain service excellence.Key Responsibilities:New Software Implementation • Coordinate with software providers and internal stakeholders.• Oversee data migration and system integration.• Develop and execute staff training programs.• Ensure successful adoption across both branches.Quality Management Certification • Develop and implement a quality management system.• Establish and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).• Conduct internal audits and coordinate the external certification process.• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.Operational Management• Oversee daily operations across both branches: • Coordinate purchasing, logistics, and warehousing activities.• Manage inventory control and stock accuracy.• Optimise supply chain operations and import coordination.• Monitor and report on key operational metrics.Multi-Branch Coordination• Ensure consistency in procedures and service delivery.• Facilitate cross-branch communication and resource sharing.• Conduct site visits of Perth branch• Support local team leaders in performance optimisation.People & Compliance Management• Guide and support operational team leaders.• Assist in recruitment and development of operational staff.• Foster a positive work culture and cross-branch collaboration.Safety & Compliance: • Maintain OHS standards and environmental compliance.• Conduct regular safety audits.• Ensure regulatory requirements are met across both locations.Reporting & Communication• Provide regular performance updates to the General Manager.• Manage stakeholder communications.• Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives.Key Competencies:• Strategic Project Management• Multi-Site Operations Management• System Implementation & Integration• Quality Management Systems• Leadership & Team Development• Problem-Solving & Analytics• Communication & Stakeholder ManagementQualifications & Experience:• Minimum 5 years' experience in operations management with multi-site responsibility.• Demonstrated success in system implementation projects.• Experience with quality management systems and certification processes.• Strong understanding of supply chain and warehouse operations.• Proven leadership and change management capabilities.KPIs for Success:• Successful software implementation meeting project milestones.• System adoption rates across both branches.• Quality management system implementation.• SOP development and compliance rates.Operational KPIs:• Warehouse accuracy and stock control metrics.• Cost reduction and efficiency improvements.• Safety incident rates.• Staff retention and satisfaction levels.• Customer service levels.Closing Statement:This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation with a focus on innovation and excellence.
