Lead Group has partnered with a leading manufacturer of agricultural and farming equipment in Wagga Wagga, NSW to find a fast-thinking and experienced Operations Manager. This is a key leadership role that involves overseeing the manufacturing and procurement processes within a busy workshop environment. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, improving current processes, and implementing new systems.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day operations across manufacturing and procurement, ensuring smooth workflow and timely project completion.Manage a diverse team of 35 workers, including painters, blasters, fitters, engineers, and general workshop hands, with a total team size of 53.Lead and mentor the Procurement Manager and Manufacturing Manager, providing guidance and support to optimise their functions.Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement new systems to enhance productivity and quality.Collaborate with the General Manager to develop strategies for continuous improvement and operational excellence.Manage procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and timely availability of materials.Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance, ensuring all products meet the required standards.Solve complex problems that arise in the manufacturing process, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the workshop.Requirements:Proven experience in workshop management, with a strong background in manufacturing and procurement.Experience in the manufacturing of agricultural or farming equipment is highly desirable.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement effective solutions.Experience in logistics and supply chain management is an advantage.Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement new systems.Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Ability to work closely with senior management and report directly to the General Manager.If you have the experience and leadership skills needed to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply.
