Overview:
The Operations Manager will be the operational backbone of our warehouse and customer care teams, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations. This role is focused on optimizing processes, managing resources, and maintaining a high standard of safety and performance. With strong attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence, the Operations Manager will lead the team in meeting business goals, improving customer experiences, and driving process improvements. Additionally, this role will support the COO with day-to-day management tasks and strategic initiatives, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor the warehouse and customer care teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring optimal performance. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance skills and support succession planning. Workplace Health & Safety (WHS): Ensure compliance with WHS regulations at all company locations, prioritizing safety, managing hazards, and achieving a zero-injury workplace. Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day warehouse and customer care operations, ensuring efficient processes, optimal stock levels, and high performance across all touchpoints. Oversee technology procurement and maintenance to support seamless operations. Project Management & Execution: Lead operational projects ensuring alignment with company goals, budgets, and timelines. Process Optimization & Sustainability: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency. Drive sustainability initiatives across operations, integrating them into daily practices. Supplier & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external partners, ensuring Beginning Boutique remains a priority client for both domestic and international operations. Strategic Planning & Reporting: Collaborate with and support the COO to set and execute key projects and timelines. Provide regular reporting and analysis to leadership, supporting informed decision-making and the achievement of business objectives. HR & Team Support: Oversee HR processes for the operations team, including hiring, performance management, and staff administration. Qualifications and Experience:
Leadership & Management: Minimum of 5 years' experience leading and developing high-performing teams in warehouse or logistics environments. A degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field will be advantageous. Proven ability to mentor, coach, and foster talent within a team. Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing large-scale operational projects, such as new warehouse development and international expansion, ensuring timely and successful execution. Operational Expertise: Strong background in optimizing operational processes, managing resources, and implementing logistics strategies to improve efficiency and performance across both warehouse and retail operations. Strategic & Business Planning: Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans at the department or business unit level, aligning operational activities with broader business goals. Inventory & Stock Management: Proven experience in managing inventory systems, ensuring optimal stock levels, and preventing shortages, particularly in a multi-location retail and warehouse environment. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work closely with other departments such as finance, HR, and marketing to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operational goals. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with a proven track record of identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party suppliers and customers.
