A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their growing business in Melbourne VIC.
You will be building off existing sector offerings in NSW, QLD and VIC regions and implementing new offerings in the fuel and water infrastructure sector along the way.
In this role you will support business growth by securing new clients and projects and managing those projects through to delivery across multiple states.
The Operations Manager will be supported by National Senior Leadership and will work alongside the company, along with the executive leadership team that will work collaboratively to set and achieve growth strategies.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: Work with the Energy Sector Lead and State Managers to leverage off initial project wins and capabilities to continue significant growth in this sector and leverage this underserviced market Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs Using the existing in-house experience as a foundation, develop a coordinated delivery team to deliver multiple Fuel and Water infrastructure projects across the Eastern Seaboard Develop a pipeline of Project Opportunities aligned with the business strategy Develop and maintain client relationships to assist with the aligned pipeline of opportunities Co-ordinate and align with State and sector Managers to ensure efficient and effective utilisation of group resources Bid management – Strategically champion bids from engagement through to submission Develop and maintain relationships with capable and culture aligned contractors Submit progress reports to Management and take part in Management engagement meetings to give feedback on progress Forecast sales targets and co-ordinate the successful achievement of targets Set short- and long-term strategy Qualifications and Requirements: Extensive experience as an Operations or Business Development Manager in a Fuel and Water Infrastructure related construction environment, bringing an existing network contacts within the Australian Energy Sector to facilitate a fast transition Diversified experience with large portfolio management including multiple major construction and/or infrastructure projects more than $50M Commercial acumen with the responsibility for the financial success of multiple business units Commitment to business development and pre-contracts activity Ability to manage multiple business lines and deliver operational and growth strategies for all Ability to influence and drive teams to deliver contribution to business objectives This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.
