An exciting opportunity is available for a Business Development Manager with a focus on ocean freight, to join the team and contribute to the continued success of the Victorian branch and company.
THE ROLE: Leveraging your expertise and industry knowledge, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, forging partnerships with key stakeholders, and expanding market presence within ocean freight.
As a key member the team you will have the freedom to pursue ideas, be entrepreneurial while always being accountable with targets and KPI's.
Key responsibilities of the role will include: Identify and prospect new business opportunities, including potential customers, partners, and industry collaborators, through targeted outreach and networking efforts.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention while identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Develop and implement strategic plans to expand our client portfolio Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms Work with the State Sales Manager to develop strategies and activities to support existing customer relationships and grow new accounts Engage with senior stakeholders and teams to develop value added solutions Provide quotes to clients in a timely manner Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, pipeline activity, and market trends to track progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement or optimisation ABOUT YOU: The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual, capable of handling a variety of tasks with efficiency and enthusiasm.
You will also have: Experience in international ocean freight processes Ideally you have demonstrated history of achieving sales success and fostering business growth in the logistics sector Capbility to execute strategic plans effectively Excellent client relationship management skills with a focus on problem-solving Full working rights in Australia Please note that the client is open to considering candidates with an Operations or Customer Service background, provided they have experience in ocean freight forwarding.
