The service supports people who may have been living independently in the community but require a more supported environment to enhance their living skills, or those who may have completed their stay in hospital and are ready for community-based treatment and rehabilitation.Support and Training:Supervision – as per the Regional LHN Allied Health Supervision FrameworkAccess to Professional Development fundingSupport with transitioning into professional practice – through the Mental Health Allied Health Professional Practice Program (AHP1)Access to contextual Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training (specific to the region) and access to Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Aboriginal Health PractitionersAbout the Role:The Occupational Therapist (AHP2) utilizes their extensive clinical expertise, encompassing both broad and specialized knowledge, to design, execute, and assess a holistic array of services tailored to meet the unique requirements of individuals, their caregivers, and families. Operating with a degree of autonomy, they may also engage in overseeing the clinical development of junior allied health professionals, assistants, and students. Collaborating within a diverse multi-disciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist employs a blend of preventive measures, early interventions, therapeutic techniques, and assessment methodologies.Under the direct guidance of a senior clinician, the Occupational Therapist (AHP1) plays a pivotal role in delivering a diverse range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented services within the multi-disciplinary framework of the Local Health Network (LHN) Mental Health service. Their focus is on tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs of both the individual consumer and the broader local community.About You:Must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and as a regulated profession be eligible for registration as an occupational therapist within Australia.AHP1:Provide a broad range of clinical services, selecting, adopting and applying methods, procedures and standards which are generally well established and straightforward.Exercise professional judgment within prescribed areas, with support from a Clinical Senior to verify methods and results.Provide straightforward clinical services, including one-on-one, group and health promotion activities.Manage and prioritise personal workload.AHP2:Apply professional expertise, developing generalist/specialist knowledge, clinical competence and experience to provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.Exercise professional judgment in the selection and adaptation of established methods, procedures, and techniques within the profession.Manage and prioritise personal workload and support others in developing workload management plans, including in the allocation of team resources.Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and Immunisation compliance as indicated on the Role description.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.Want To Know More?
