The Nurse Manager Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Services coordinates the recruitment and employment of nurses and midwives (Registered Nurse/Midwife, Enrolled Nurse, Student in Nursing, Assistant in Nursing) positions for the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Townsville University Hospital, located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.

The role of the Nurse Manager is to facilitate and provide nursing leadership, support, clinical and education accountabilities of the NMST and casual nursing/midwifery workforce. This position provides resource management and strategic management to support the delivery of high quality, best practice care across the organisation.
Employment TermFixed Term Temporary full-time, from 02.12.2024 up to 16.03.2025 with possible extension not exceeding 12 months.Role requirementsMandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix, and PowerPoint.Generous remuneration package value up to $13,724 p.m. comprising: Wage rate ranges between $5081.10 - $5516.60 p.f.
