As a Nuclear Submarine Digital Technologist within ASA's Digital Strategy Branch, you will help to design, develop, test, deliver, support and evolve the digital capabilities and systems required to ensure an enduring, safe, available and capable Australian nuclear-powered submarine fleet. You will work within transdisciplinary teams across the science, technology, engineering, construction, operation and sustainment eco-system, adopting and evolving advanced and emerging technologies to ensure efficient and relevant capability delivery. Advanced technologies like AI and machine learning are just the beginning.
Your duties in this role may also include:Developing, enhancing, and sustaining technology solutions employed across the nuclear-powered submarine program.Developing and applying knowledge, principles, techniques and best practice approaches to deliver high-assurance and reliable digital solutions.Implementing scientific and engineering methodologies to solve problems of considerable complexity.Ensuring professional scientific and engineering standards are maintained through the application of established principles.Working collaboratively, operating as an effective team member and providing constructive feedback when deficiencies are identified.Managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows and evaluating technical outcomes.To excel in these roles, you'll need to be able to:Research and synthesise complex information.Develop, investigate, test and interpret technical requirements.Provide technical advice, knowledge and recommendations.Engage with Defence, AUKUS and industry partners to understand and develop requirements.Prepare briefs, minutes, proposals and presentations.Coordinate, share and effectively engage with highly skilled teams across the enterprise.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best-practice.Effectively and efficiently problem solve.Your role may range from being very specialist in nature to quite broad. The Digital Strategy branch works within the Australian Submarine Agency to establish, sustain and evolve the digital capabilities needed to enable sovereign technical control of our submarines. Our team is responsible for the development and sustainment of a wide range of digital capabilities, including digital engineering environments, specialised software tools and advanced digital and modelling capabilities.

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree related to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent. Post graduate qualifications in a related field will be highly regarded.
