St John Ambulance Tasmania is incorporated under the Tasmanian Associations Incorporations Act. We are a self-funded not-for-profit with a skills-based Board. We operate across Tasmania with our main office in Moonah and two other centres in Launceston and Devonport.
We have six business units based around first aid and servicing those in need:
Commercial Business Units : there are four commercial activities - First Aid Training, First Aid Supplies, Mobility Aids and Non-Emergency Patient Transport. Community Business Units : two widely based units - Event Health Services and Community Care Services mainly focused on community transport. We are the largest provider of quality first aid training in Tasmania and also operate Event Health Service across Tasmania. We have a volunteer ethos through which we deliver our community services.
Opportunities with our Board
A voluntary Board of Directors governs St John Ambulance (Tasmania) Inc. The Board is a skills-based Board of nine and we are looking to fill two Non-Executive Director vacancies. As a diverse and inclusive Board, we are seeking a professional who has:
An interest in, lived experience or background in healthcare or first aid. An interest in serving the community through the work of St John. Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration and advocacy skills. We are specifically seeking individuals who have experience in finance and risk and/or marketing. Favourable consideration will also be given to legal, compliance and youth program experience.
