As a valued member in our Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) division, this means being there at the end of an NHS 111 call, day and night, and helping people access the urgent treatment they need. We are looking for patient-focused candidates to join us as NHS 111 Health Advisors to assist our patients.
Location: This role is office-based in Ipswich, IP3 9FH

Hours available: We have Part-time opportunities ranging from a minimum of 16 hours to a maximum of 30 hours per week, covering a 24/7 operation. Rotas available Monday to Sunday covering core hours (early evening/overnight contracts, working between 1600-0600). We are also offering a weekend-only rota. What you will get: An hourly rate of £12.11 Enhancements are paid at £15.05 (contractual night rate) and £15.58 (red zone weekend rate - subject to T&C's) Fully paid accredited training of £12.11 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays (additional annual leave based on length of service) Great job security and full support for ongoing career and salary progression into coaching, training and management roles. Training: To become a licensed operator, you will receive NHS Pathway training (a highly advanced telephone triage tool), used for assessing, triaging and directing the public to urgent and emergency care services. You must be able to attend every day of your training for course completion. We are offering both full-time and part-time classroom-based courses, which runs:
Full-time Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm for 4 weeks Part-time Sat & Sun (9.00am-5.00pm) including Tues, Weds, Thurs (5.00pm-9.30pm) for 6 weeks Our next available dates are: Saturday 30th November 2024 - part time Monday 2nd December 2024 - full time Monday 6th January 2025 - full time Saturday 18th January 2025 - part time What you'll be doing Role and responsibilities of NHS 111 Call Handler/Health Advisor include: Answer and respond to incoming calls to the IUC/NHS111 service from members of the public, healthcare practitioners or other professionals. Triaging patient calls using the appropriate Pathways system, ensuring Pathways is followed and the correct advice and outcome is selected. You will accurately record and check or amend details on the call logging computer system. Always maintain a calm and professional manner, dealing with callers with empathy and understanding. Support the safeguarding of individuals following local protocols and standards. Relate to others in ways which support rights, inclusion and wellbeing of individuals, supporting individuals to keep themselves safe. What we'll look for in you In summary, we are looking for Call Handlers/Health Advisors who have: Essential GCSE Grade A-C in English and Maths Drive and passion to make a difference to people's lives. Personal resilience to work in a high-pressured environment Ability to work well within a team as well as independently Fast and accurate typing skills Good standard of education or equivalent experience.
