The Senior Network Engineer will be tasked by the Project Manager to be responsible for the design, build and commissioning of network solutions. The Senior Network Engineer will elicit and analyse user requirements through a variety of means (formal meetings, informal discussion etc.) to lead the design & build of network solutions.
The Senior Network Engineer will ensure the selection of technology and design of network topology meets the required parameters for network connectivity, capacity, speed, interfacing, security, and access. The Senior Network Engineer will then lead implementation of the approved design.
The Senior Network Engineer is highly competent in the configuration, operation & maintenance of networking hardware and infrastructure. This includes CCNA, CCNP and expertise across the CISCO range.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
Procuring network equipment and managing relationships with vendors.
Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Essential Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or relevant experience
CISCO CCNA & CCNP certifications
Hold and maintain a TSPV security clearance
Experience within a Defence environment
Proven experience as a Network Engineer
Desirable Qualifications
Post-graduate qualification in a related technical discipline
Experience with cloud networking
Experience with software designed networking
Experience with ICT Projects
>10 years' experience in a technical discipline
