Our students participate in a wide range of activities, including netball, and we are looking for passionate coaches to join our team.
Position Overview
We are seeking Casual Netball Coaches to assist with the MLC Stars and GSV Netball programs. These programs run from February through to September (excluding school holidays) for MLC Stars, and from late March through to late June for the GSV program. You will be coaching students from Year 4 to Year 12, helping them develop their skills and participate in competitions.
Key Responsibilities: Coaching: Lead netball training sessions, plan and prepare for each session, and deliver engaging coaching for teams in various age groups (Year 4 – Year 12).Match Day: Coach teams on Friday afternoons or Saturdays at Boroondara Netball Association, Macleay Park, Balwyn North, ensuring a professional and supportive approach.Training Sessions: Conduct training sessions at MLC during the week, including before school and lunchtimes, as scheduled.Team Support: Arrive at training and games in advance (15 minutes prior to training, 30 minutes before games) and liaise with the Head of Netball to ensure smooth operations.Uniform & Conduct: Wear the appropriate MLC uniform and coach with respect, integrity, and professionalism at all times.Requirements: Essential Criteria:Previous experience playing or coaching netball and a general understanding of the rules of the game.Ability to plan and deliver engaging netball training sessions.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Punctuality and reliability (attendance at all scheduled games and training sessions).Problem-solving skills and ability to work as part of a team.Willingness to complete Netball Australia's Foundation Coaching Course, as well as hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid certification.Desirable Criteria:Previous coaching, playing, or umpiring experience in netball.Completion of the Netball Vic Foundation Coaching Course.Key Dates: MLC Stars Netball Program: February 17th – Start of September (excluding school holidays)GSV Netball Program: Trials begin March 24th – End of June MLC's Commitment to Child Safety
