About the role:
We have an exciting career opportunity for a National Technical Manager – based in our corporate office in Darra, Brisbane. In this role you will ensure that customer requirements in relation to product performance are identified and satisfied and existing products are improved with new products developed to meet the needs of Cement Australia's expanding customer-base. This is a rare opportunity to assist with playing a pivotal role in our future decarbonisation / sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead and promote good SHEQ behaviours and challenge non-compliance
Provide thoughtful leadership for long-term profitability and competitiveness
Plan and coordinate resources to identify and control risk and hazards.
Ensure good housekeeping and environmental consideration is maintained across area of responsibility
Measure, evaluate and manage product performance levels
Manage the performance and effectiveness of the central lab testing and reporting services
Manage the technical relationship with shareholder customers, industry groups, government agencies and specifiers
Oversee and manage the achievement of departmental financial targets
Ensure a representation of CA interests on Industry technical groups and Standards Australia committees
Setting & monitoring manufacturing specifications including oversight of technical aspects in grinding plants and close liaison with integrated plant technical management.
Tracking embodied carbon in products and driving initiatives to reduce overall embodied carbon from process to customer.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A strong technical knowledge and previous experience in manufacturing and laboratory operations
Experience in cement and concrete technologies - we are seeking a technical expert
The ability to take a lead role in driving our technical agenda and industry activities
The skills to develop and maintain relationships with senior influencers in Government and other CA business partners
Proven leadership capabilities and are able to inspire a high-performing team
Tertiary qualifications in science or engineering - Postgraduate science or engineering qualification preferred
