The OpportunityWe have a great opportunity to join the Chief Underwriting Office as National Manager – Portfolio Underwriting Support. As National Manager you are responsible for delivery of product and underwriting technical support functions to the National Portfolio Management team for both personal lines and commercial products and will support the GM Underwriting on cross product underwriting portfolio projects.
How will I help?A day in the role may look a bit like this:
Develop, deliver and drive effective planning of the Portfolio Underwriting function to ensure delivery of services to underpin Underwriting Business plans.Assist the GM Underwriting coordinate and manage team wide projects, business, and technical activities.Supervise the administration of the Product Committee function for relevant products as per instructions from the Product Chair.Assist with complex underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.Assist with the maintenance of underwriting rules including risk management and risk acceptance criteria.Support effective communication of Product related issues across relevant Business Units to develop and promote the product to the market.Demonstrate understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycle to drive and enhance business performance.Lead, manage, coach and mentor the team to ensure effective resource allocation, optimal performance, capability development, employee engagement and retention.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have a solid working knowledge of Underwriting Operations, with extensive experience in a Leadership role. You will also have:
