National Manager, Official Receiver
has a role in the effective administration of bankrupt estates, ensuring fair, transparent, and compliant processes from bankruptcy application to closure.
This role supports trustees including the Official Trustee to efficiently manage bankrupt estates, personal insolvency agreements, and debt agreements, as integral elements of Australia's credit system.
This role also provides critical guidance to debtors on legal obligations and navigates complex interactions among creditors, trustees, and representatives to promote equitable resolutions.
Additionally, this role is responsible for leading AFSA's service centre and for aligning services with the agency's strategy and goals, continuously identifying and implementing improvements to enhance program effectiveness, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.About the personAs a member of AFSA's Executive Leadership Team, the National Manager, Official Receiver will play a pivotal role in setting and implementing the strategic direction of AFSA, while overseeing the Official Receiver function and leadership of the Service Centre.
This role requires strategic leadership, a demonstrated ability to deliver on results and to manage and lead through change and uncertainty.
It also requires stakeholder engagement skills along with a keen understanding of governance and risk management practices.The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments, demonstrating a keen focus on building organisational capability and responsiveness, along with a commitment to preserving the integrity of the financial system and the statutory role.
Proficiency in regulatory stewardship and a dedication to advancing government objectives are essential traits for driving positive impacts and bolstering Australia's credit system.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment and professional integrity necessary for the exercise of significant statutory delegations.Achieving a culture that embraces change and innovation, continuous development, and service improvements while maintaining efficiencies and delivering effective outcomes.Ensuring that issues are effectively communicated and relayed to the policy and program development functions.Qualifications and experienceTertiary qualifications in law, public policy, or relevant discipline from an Australian tertiary institution (or comparable overseas institution), or demonstrated equivalent experience gained within the Insolvency or public sector are highly desirable.Travel will be a requirement for the role.
