About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and highly experienced professional to join our Safety & Quality team as an Engineering Quality Facilitator. This is a full-time role based in Adelaide that reports directly to the Part 145 Safety & Quality Manager and indirectly to the Part 42 Quality Manager.
We are looking for a seasoned aviation professional with a strong technical background and a proven ability to lead audits for CASR Part 145/ Part 42. Your expertise in airworthiness, engineering, and regulatory compliance is complemented by a forward-thinking mindset and excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties & Responsibilities: Serve as the key resource to lead audits for CASR Part 145 & Part 42, including technical writing skills for reports. Monitor and align Airworthiness and Engineering departmental performance with NJE's strategic objectives. Support and develop engineering and airworthiness teams, ensuring compliance and high standards of safety. Promote and raise awareness of safety requirements throughout the company. Work independently from any maintenance function to ensure unbiased quality and safety oversight. Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of continuous improvement. Preparing and maintain checklists for use in both internal and external audits. Conduct external audits of subcontractors to assess the suitability of subcontractors to perform contracted tasks. Liaise with external authorities during third party audits as required. Investigate safety related engineering events and distributing reports as required. Manage open engineering findings. Monitor the receipt of and following up on engineering RCA response/ s within the time frame allocated. Perform tasks as directed by the Part 145 Safety & Quality Manager and Part 42 Quality Manager. Travel around the network to complete audits on short notice. Provide high level safety assurance to the National Jet Express AOC. Any other tasks assigned by the Part 145 Safety & Quality Manager and 42 Quality Manager. Essential Selection Criteria: Possess an Engineering background, preferably in the aviation industry with at least 2 years' experience. Formal qualifications in quality management. Sound knowledge of CASR Part 145/ Part 42 QMS and SMS regulations, principles and practices and associated legislative and non-legislative instruments within CASR Part 145/ Part 42 environments. Familiarisation with the different types of maintenance operations associated with the Part 145 Aeronautical Product workshop environment. Broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of an aviation organisation. Understand the role of human performance in accident causation and prevention. An understanding of Human Factors (HF) in aviation. Possess comprehensive knowledge of engineering procedures and practices. Previous investigation and auditing experience Advanced communication and report writing skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines. Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Criteria: Hold a formal qualification in quality management or a minimum of 2 years' experience in quality management activities. Have a working knowledge of Part 147 (1998) Maintenance Training Organisations. Have successfully completed a recognised ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor's course. Possess an Engineering background with practical experience as an AME/LAME or hold a Cert IV. Hold a valid Australian driver's license and passport.
