About your new job
This role is primarily responsible for implementing the Group's credit policies so that an acceptable level of risk is maintained, debtor balances are collected on a timely basis, losses are kept to a minimum and arrears are economically collected.
Leading a team, your responsibilities include:
•Drives the National Credit team to continuously improve and advance the credit function, incorporating as appropriate technology in order to drive an efficient function while managing credit risk.
•Controls and directs the credit and accounts receivable activities as authorised by senior management
•Drives a high level of customer service both externally and internally.
•Ensures credit policies and procedures are consistently applied and complied with across by all Australian divisions, contributing to the overall profitability of the company and to customer stability.
•Monitors the status of credit and collection activities to identify problem areas and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance of the team.
•Drives prompt recovery and adequate protection of the Group's investments in accounts receivable.
•Develops the control and authorisation of credit to customers and the collection of monies due.
•Rejects or authorises customer applications in accordance with company standards and establishes appropriate repayment terms to minimise credit risk to the organisation.
•Liaises with accounting staff and contributes to effective cash flow management.
•Drives monthly credit reporting to the executive team.
•Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a national team of credit and collections staff to ensure that the credit and collections activities are conducted effectively, ethically and in compliance with policies, regulations and law.
About you
•Experience leading a large team working for another large organisation - multinational or listed.
•You will be an energetic and natural communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with business, operation and finance leaders
•Engage with others collaboratively, and work to a high standard with accuracy and deliver on time;
•Enjoy working as part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple stakeholders.
