TRACTOR OPERATOR The Opportunity We have an exciting new opportunity to join our business as a Tractor Operator.
Reporting to our Onion Harvest Manager, you will be required to operate tractors in our onion harvest operations.
Other key responsibilities include: Operating farm machinery including tractors for the onion harvest.
Operate machinery with a high level of safety, proficiency and competency.
Ensuring required standards of hygiene are met.
Adhering to farm policies and standard operating procedures.
Assist harvest team to reach optimal KPI targets.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience operating a tractor including forklift tractor in a field environment.
Other machinery operation experience is an advantage.
Ability to travel independently between farming sites.
Adaptability to varied work hours if required.
Ability to demonstrate high level of safety awareness.
The ability to work under pressure in a high volume and fast paced environment.
Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights.
Forklift licence preferred, but not essential.
FORKLIFT OPERATOR The Opportunity Reporting to our Onion Harvest Manager, you will be responsible for safe and efficient forklift operation during onion harvest operations.
Other key responsibilities include: Review harvest advice, documentation and accuracy of load ready to dispatch from the farm.
Collection and loading of produce from paddock to truck.
Optimise forklift operations for maximum efficiencies and safe loading.
Operate machinery with a high level of proficiency and competency.
Coordinate with Harvest and Production teams to ensure product meets logistic timelines.
Ensuring required standards of hygiene are met.
Adhering to farm policies and standard operating procedures.
Assist harvest team to reach optimal KPI targets.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience operating a High Reach forklift in a farming environment loading and unloading trucks.
Ability to travel independently between farming sites.
Adaptability to varied work hours if required.
Ability to demonstrate high level of safety awareness.
The ability to work under pressure in a high volume, fast paced, farming or cold room environment.
Capability to perform repetitious tasks efficiently, correctly and systematically.
RF scanning experience.
Current driver's licence, LF forklift licence and full Australian working rights.
A HC Truck Licence would also be desirable.
PROCESS WORKER The Opportunity Reporting to our Onion Harvest Manager, you will be responsible for safe and efficient processing, pruning and sorting of our onions during harvest.
Other key responsibilities include: Inspect onions to remove any imperfections.
Prune excess foliage and remove any undesirable parts of the onion.
Coordinate with harvest and production teams to ensure product meets logistic timelines.
Ensuring required standards of hygiene are met.
Adhering to farm policies and standard operating procedures.
Assist harvest team to reach optimal KPI targets.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not a requirement.
Ability to travel independently between farming sites.
Adaptability to varied work hours if required.
Ability to demonstrate high level of safety awareness.
The ability to work under pressure in a high volume, fast paced, farming or cold room environment.
Capability to perform repetitious tasks efficiently, correctly and systematically.
Current driver's licence and Australian working rights.
Please note we are a farming and fresh food business and have peak seasonal supply periods where we move to a six-day-a-week roster.
Positions Available With a busy season upon us at Kalfresh, we are seeking to hire: Three agriculturally minded tractor drivers.
Two enthusiastic forklift operators.
Two -Three process team members.
These casual positions are based between our South-East Queensland farming sites inclusive of Kalbar, Clintonvale and Gatton, so would ideally suit someone who lives locally or is willing to travel between these beautiful regions.
Current intake dates for successful applications will be throughout September or early October.
Season will run from October 2024 – January 2025.
