Part-time, fixed-term role until September 2025 (0.6 EFT) - Start Summer with a New Role that Makes a Difference in People's Lives
Mpower Inc. has an exciting opportunity within our Inclusive Communities Department for a Coordinator Community Development. Working closely with the Community Services and Development team, this role involves collaborating with clients, families, participants, and community partners to ensure inclusivity for people with disabilities and their families. The role also facilitates crucial networks with community stakeholders to ensure better outcomes for clients and the community.
Who is Mpower
Mpower is a well-established, accredited not-for-profit community-based organization servicing South West Victoria. Established in 1975, Mpower has grown from a small voluntary service to an accredited agency employing over 95 staff, providing a range of clinical and support services to over 1200 families regionally. Recent growth, including the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), has allowed us to develop responsive services in our local community.
The Role
The Coordinator Community Development leads efforts to enhance community capacity and capability for the education, participation, and inclusion of people with disabilities and vulnerable families. This includes working with clients, families, stakeholders, and the community to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities, implementing solutions through partnerships or grant applications. The position also facilitates local networks to increase connection and collaboration around local issues such as support for carers in our region. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) is flexible, allowing work from any Mpower site (Warrnambool, Portland, or Hamilton).
The ideal candidate will have experience or qualifications in community development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop partnerships, facilitate networks, and create funding applications. We seek a person passionate about improving the lives of people with disabilities and vulnerable families.
