If Queensland sun, calm beaches, cute cafes, and proximity to K'gari (Fraser Island) aren't enough to attract you to beautiful Hervey Bay, then our vibrant, fun team might just do it. Hervey Bay Vet Surgery is a clinic with a great reputation and high standards of client and patient care. It is a busy practice with a skilled support team. It is a well-equipped clinic with two theatres, five consult rooms, and separate dental and surgical areas. It has ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, IDEXX blood machines, and more.
The clinic currently has two permanent experienced veterinarians and would love two more to complete their team. Being a semi-rural practice means that there are some on-call shifts. These shifts are not likely to be any more than once per week, as weekday on-call is shared with four other clinics in town. They are more likely to be once per fortnight as you would also be able to share with our current on-call vet. On-call weekends are few and far between; we have a rotation of seven different clinics who share the on-call weekends for the area. The clinic is open 8am to 1pm on a Saturday and is closed Sundays. Saturday shifts are also rotated through our vets, so most weekends will be your own to explore this beautiful area. During the week, normal working hours are 8am to 5pm.
At Hervey Bay Vet Surgery, you would have an option to work full-time or part-time. We also offer an option to work solely with small animals or to do a combination of small and large animals. We have a dedicated equine section (a vet and a nurse) and a mobile setup that allows our veterinarians to complete farm visits and house calls.
We are committed to supporting continuing education amongst our staff and would be open to applications from new graduates as well as experienced veterinarians.
