Description About the role The role of Mission Critical, Science & Technology Sector Leader, Victoria is suited to a proactive individual that is keen to develop strategic business opportunities to shape Stantec's Mission Critical, Science & Technology sector in the buildings team in the Melbourne office

You will be responsible for the direction of all aspects of the Mission Critical, Science & Technology Section within Victoria. You will have the benefit of enjoying a diverse position and will need to have the ability to multitask and share your time evenly between project delivery and business development.

You will be required to act as project director or project manager to ensure that project outcomes exceed both the client and Stantec expectations and contribute to Stantec's national health strategy by providing leadership and advocacy in Mission Critical, Science & Technology sector related practice areas.

Day to day tasks would involve: Identify clients and pursuits in line with strategic objectives to grow market share and increase the reputation of the business for delivery excellence
Coordinate the marketing and business development activities associated with the Mission Critical, Science & Technology (MCST) sector, collaborating with the other MCST State Sector Leaders as appropriate
Build positive relationships with existing and potential clients to foster strategic partnerships to support business development across the state.
Identify winning work opportunities and lead the winning of work for the practice through delivering proposals
Take overall high-level responsibility for the delivery of projects (single and multi-disciplinary) within the Mission Critical, Science & Technology sector.
Support Project Managers in the delivery of projects and assist when required in resolving project delivery issues
Liaise with practitioners and client teams in each region to understand the needs of the clients in this practice area and the local approach to service delivery
Assist in the development of appropriate budgets and delivery targets appropriate for the sector, based on market knowledge and business expectations
Ensure that the Mission Critical, Science & Technology practice maintains an appropriate level of service to our Clients.
To be successful for this role you'll need: Engineering qualification.
10 years experience, ideally predominately working in consultancy environment.
External recognition as a key player in the Mission Critical sector.
Constantly staying up-to-date with the Mission Critical, Science & Technology sector industry and market trends.
Have demonstrable experience in various contract types.
Sound knowledge of Australian Building Codes and standards
Competence in managing risk exposure.
Ability to alternate between project involvement, overall sector performance and management responsibilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
Positive, can-do attitude.
