The Opportunity We are now seeking a Mining Systems Technician to join our Operational Technology Team on a permanent full-time basis and FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth. Reporting to the Superintendent Operational Technology, you will conduct day to day maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement on the mining technology systems such as the CAT MineStar Fleet, Cat MineStar Terrain, CAT Driver Safety System (DSS), Huawei LTE communication network and Motorola P25 System.
This role is accountable for providing support, centred on troubleshooting and fault rectification, to the fleet management system on-board mobile equipment, Motorola radio systems and LTE wireless network.
Support tasks expected in this role include fault-finding and configuration of MineStar hardware, LTE radio, DSS hardware, repairs to MineStar cabling and sensors, maintenance of the mobile two-way radios, and LTE Trailer servicing and repairs.
The mining fleet management system encompasses all surface mobile fleet.
In this role you'll be responsible for: Provide input to site safety by reporting hazards and incidents promptly.Provide hands on first level support for repair and maintenance of the Fleet Management System on-board hardware.Monitor, maintain, and provide support for all electronic hardware and equipment installed across the operation, that may include communication equipment, trailers, CCTV, sensors, and any device in the field used to support the mining operation.Ensuring high availability of key mining assets by performing inspections, repairs, and replacement to faulty equipment in a timely mannerPerform analysis on equipment failure trends and provide recommendations for further improvement to existing solutions and processesTest and configure all on-board equipment, maintain regular checks to ensure systems are in good working orderBuilding and maintaining strong, positive relationships with all key stakeholders, particularly in operational rolesTo succeed in this role, you will have 2-3 years' similar experience within a surface mining operation.
Previous experience in an Operational Technology type role supporting heavy equipment and trucks will be highly regarded.
To be successful in the role you must have the following qualifications and experience: Trade qualifications or experience in auto-electrical, communications, electronics, or IT.Hands on experience with tools for hardware and cabling repairs.Experience with troubleshooting machine on-board systems.Experience with a Fleet Management systems i.e.
