About the Role We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team at our Bellevue, WA location. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide accurate, timely and compliant package estimates for our commercial clients, along with our commercial dealer network and export customers. You will work closely, and liaise with, Pioneers engineering and compliance departments to ensure all aspects of submissions meet specified documentation.
Key Responsibilities Provide input into the 'buildability' of projects during the design phase to ensure that the design is generated in the most cost-effective manner.Review preliminary specifications and drawings to determine scope of works.Ensure all tasks and plans are in accordance with legislation, regulation and services requirements.Prepare accurate and timely Bills of Quantities and/or cost plans.Send out tender packages to approved subcontractors, suppliers, trades.Undertake a comprehensive review of subcontractor and other pricing.Prepare tender submission to the client in conjunction with the Project Manager.Develop the project scope in consultation with the Project Manager and the client (up to $3M).Liaise with architects, engineering consultants, councils, suppliers and sub-contractors.Maintain knowledge of the latest design and innovative construction techniques in order to provide the best solutions to clients.Conduct commercial, risk and profitability reviews.Skills and Experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in structural steel and sheet steel estimating for manufacturing/fabrication industry.Have a sound understanding of welded products and the engineering process of producing fabricated steel products.Comprehensive knowledge of engineering/architectural drawings and understanding scope of works.Ability to create complex quoting tools to suit the needs of the business.Self-motivated individual who has initiative to deliver outcomes, meet project deadlines and accurately read and interpret specifications confidently.Possess demonstrable experience in compiling tenders and quotes.Negotiation skills in a similar role/position.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Why Work at Ahrens and Pioneer Water Tanks Pioneer Water Tanks is a leading division of the Ahrens family of brands and has been operating for over 30 years.
