The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating underground mines producing zinc, copper, and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.We are currently seeking an experienced Mine Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and manage daily tasks in the underground mine. The goal is to meet the weekly mining schedule and carry out tasks safely as directed by the Mine Superintendent.The Mine Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising all personnel under their control and ensuring that tasks are carried out safely, as assigned, and according to safe work methods. This role is offered on a working roster of 7 shifts on (Night/day), 7 days off roster.Key AccountabilitiesDriving safety behaviours to achieve zero harm, be accountable and drive safety as a front-line function.Managing a full crew of employees, assuming direct control and responsibility for all activities within the area of responsibility in the underground mine.Ensuring tasks are assigned to personnel who have the skills, knowledge, experience, and temperament to complete the task safely.Confirming personnel are fit for work and have the resources required for the allocated task.Making sure production targets and priorities are safely met as per the daily plan and direction from the Mine Superintendent.Qualifications & CompetenciesTo be successful in the position we require:A total commitment to safety.Demonstrated experience in an underground mine.Demonstrated supervisory experience at an underground mine.Exposure and experience with the operation of a variety of mining equipment.Demonstrated experience in a hard rock mining environment, including development and/or production.General experience with mine ventilation, dewatering, geotechnical awareness, and drill and blast methods.Ability to problem solve and multitask.Comfortable to present and speak in front of large groups of people.What we offerA safety-first cultureAn attractive remuneration including an incentive scheme, accommodation if residing in Rosebery, and allowances.A workplace that fosters diversity and inclusiveness, and supports our people with the systems, skills, and behaviours required to live our values.Relocation support where required to the point of hireWe are an equal-opportunity employer who values and respects diversity.
