Mining - Engineering & Maintenance (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time MACA Mining are seeking experienced Mining Engineers to join our project teams FIFO from Perth to various mine sites in Western Australia! We are delivering surface mining projects in the Southwest, Pilbara, Goldfields, Murchison and Wheatbelt regions.
Reporting to the Project Manager for each respective site, the Mining Engineer will assist with mine scheduling and planning to meet both client requirement and MACA production rates. You will also provide ongoing development of the mine plans, methods, design, materials handling and cost analysis as appropriate.
Responsibilities will include: Assist with mine scheduling and planning to meet both the client requirements and MACA tender production rates. Assist in the ongoing development of the mine plans, methods, design, materials handling, cost analysis and other areas as appropriate. Ensure advanced mine design work is carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Assist with contract management where required. Produce and submit monthly progress claims in an effective and timely manner. Assist with facilitating the drill and blast activities on-site. Contribute to the design of drill and blast patterns and ensure drill and blast processes/practices are being carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Provide technical input into the planning and coordinating of blasting activities. Review drill and blast claims, sub-contractor claims and drill and blast design. Mentor graduate engineers and provide training to other personnel where required. Develop, enhance and maintain professional relationships with key client contacts and site personnel. Provide specialist technical input into team project work and input evaluation into reserve resource estimates. Liaise with management regarding new/available technology on heavy equipment on site and where change may benefit the business. Implement and review new technology on mining plant and equipment on site. May be required to prepare technical reports. Review of sub-contractor service agreements. Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of MACA work practices. To be successful in this role you will possess: Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar role. Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering). Sound knowledge of plant and equipment best practice and operational performance to meet production targets in a safe and efficient manner. Sound knowledge of the Mines & Safety Inspection Act and Regulations. Demonstrated contractor mining experience with a solid skill set in client interface and exceeding performance-based mining KPIs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyse and show initiative and meet deadlines. A strong commitment to safety in the workplace. Ability to plan and schedule activities and resources. Advanced computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office suite.
