About the role
Good Shepherd Catholic College, Mount Isa is seeking an experienced and dedicated Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader . This position is a Full Time, Permanent teaching role with a 3 year fixed term appointment to the Middle Leader position . This role is a Full Time position, commencing 20 January 2025.
The Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader supports the mission of the College through leadership of specific academic, cultural, outreach, sporting or other defined programs offered to students and/or the College community.
Key Accountabilities
The position of the Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader is responsible for:
Leading the arts and cultural program in the College
Supervising teachers and teacher aides engaged in the program throughout the College
Induction of new teachers and teacher aides within the program
Pastoral care of staff within a designated area of responsibility
Contributing to the leadership of the College through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings
Regularly communicating with the Senior Leadership Team regarding issues of interest or concern.
Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal and Senior Leadership Team
The Arts and Cultural Leader will achieve this by:
Coordinating the work of staff engaged in the development of students
Monitoring the development of students through their academic, social, spiritual and physical well-being
Monitoring program outcomes for students and addressing areas of concern through appropriate interventions
Organising program activities for the College including resources, transport and operations etc.
Engaging in professional discourse with staff engaged in the program
Keeping abreast of developments within the program area through ongoing professional reading and research
Supervising the quality of staff practice through collegial support, advice, observation and facilitation of reflective response
Administration of available resources

Mandatory Criteria/Professional Registration/Other
Appropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
Current Driver's Licence.
Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
