We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metal Machinist to join our team on full-time basis working a minimum of 38 hours per week. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimizing our processes, improving efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of our operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline production workflows, reduce waste, and implement cost-saving solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines.
• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
• Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Select appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
• Review drawings and blueprints and plan the sequence of tasks to complete the job.
• Operate bending machines safely and efficiently by setting up the machine according to specifications, loading materials, and executing the bending process.
• Shaping, turning, drilling, grinding, and milling metal parts to specifications, or creating new parts.
• Responsible for ensuring that bent materials meet quality standards and specifications. Inspecting finished products for defects, measuring dimensions, and adjusting the machine as necessary to achieve the desired results
• Inspect and test finished products.
• Maintain production and quality logs, and planning stock inventory.
• Follow safety rules and consult with engineers and co-workers
• Communicate with supervisors, engineers, or other team members regarding production schedules, quality issues, and machine performance.
Qualifications:
• Relevant Qualifications desired but not mandatory
Experience
• Minimum 3 -5 years (full-time) experience as a Metal Machinist
Skills
• Strong analytical skills and experience with process modelling and analysis tools.
• A strong grasp of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
