ABC Heavy Engineering are seeking to employ suitably qualified Metal Machinist to join our busy team of professionals working out of our Paget depot and various field sites in Queensland.
To succeed in this position, you will need to have industry related experience within similar positions, a strong work ethic and strong safety focus.
Responsibilities:

The ability to carry out work with minimal supervision, a keen and enthusiastic approach to your work and willingness to work over time will help you ensure success in this role.
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, including precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments.
Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.
Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Carry out maintenance and machining as directed on company and client assets.
Area of operation is, but not limited to, the Paget workshop and on-site works including client operated plant and equipment.
Ensure that all company and client assets operate at maximum efficiency with minimum downtime.
Ensure safe and efficient work practices are adhered to at all times.
Perform routine and corrective maintenance, machining & project work in a heavy engineering or mining environment in a safe, legal and effective manner.

Salary: Between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum + Super
