The Hinterland Mental Health Service at the Moranbah Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Mental Health Clinician (Occupational Therapist or Psychologist or Social Worker or Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity As a member of the Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, this position will deliver high-quality evidence-based clinical services to consumers presenting with mental health issues in a rural setting. This will include intake/triage, clinical assessments, evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatments as well as case management, group/family work across the service's programs as required.This position reports operationally to the Team Leader, Hinterland Mental Health Service, and professionally reports through the CCS Program Manager/Allied Health Director Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service to Discipline Director in the Mackay HHS.About the Team The Hinterland Mental Health Service, located in Moranbah (200km west of Mackay) and provides outreach mental health services to Clermont, Dysart, Middlemount, and Glenden. There is the expectation that successful applicants would travel to provide outreach to above-mentioned locations and to Mackay for training and/or professional supervision on an ongoing basis. The Hinterland team comprises several programs:
Child and Youth Service providing intake, assessment, treatment, and case management services to young people (and families/supports) with moderate to severe mental health issues.Adult Service providing triage, assessment, goal and evidence-based therapeutic intervention and treatment, and case management service for adults experiencing mental health issues in the rural setting.Acute Care Team providing intake/triage, assessment, and crisis intervention to individuals who experience mental disorder within the Mackay HHS geographical area.Alcohol and Other Drugs Service providing specialist intake, assessment, intervention, and community maintenance/aftercare for people experiencing challenges with Alcohol and Other Drug use.About our Hospital and Health Service Mackay Hospital and Health Service () has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine, and Sarina.
